A Dark & Stormy Night

"A Dark & Stormy Night" from the Masked Series by Morgan Jones depicts two ballerinas at a tea party seated on a vintage sofa wearing white tutus and fox masks. Set in an abandoned house with retro wallpaper against a backdrop of a moonlit wooded night, one ballerina whispers into the other's ear while a fox sleeps on the floor. Two balloons and intertwined swirls hover above their heads, completing this whimsical and moody piece.

Each original piece of art is made by Morgan from start to finish, including the wood panel and floating frame. After mounting the image to the wood panel, Morgan carefully applies several layers of mixed media embellishments such as gel medium, varnish, 12K white gold leaf, and paint.
